The village of Agros, aside from others, is known mainly for the beautifully smelling roses that are grown in the area, from which Agros rose water is distilled. From 1961 until today, the distillation and distribution of rose water has been assumed by The Rose Cultivation Cooperative of Agros Ltd. The company functions in the form of a co-op, with around 100 producers/ members who cultivate exclusively the aforementioned variety of roses within the geographical region of Agros. In the period of production/ cutting there are about 15-20 tons of roses from all of the members of the company. During the production of the Agros rose water, no preservatives are added. Clinical studies show that the rose water contains antioxidants, which have mild anti -inflammatory and antiseptic properties, therapeutic, and immune system enhancing properties, which have made the use of rose water specifically important.
